Alexandra grew up in New Jersey and moved to Wisconsin 7 years ago. She loves to volunteer in her spare time with her therapy dog, Arya. Her passion for running started 5 years ago as a way to lose weight and grew from there after running her first half marathon. She loves running anything from a 5k to a 50k.
Angie has been running since 1998, duathlons since 2012 and triathlons since 2017. She has raced up to half ironman's but prefers to stick to the sprints and shorter stuff as her favorites. If there is a race you can almost always expect to see her in it in some shape or form, whether its racing, working (she also works for Race Day Events as a weekend warrior), volunteering or being Tri Wisconsin's official photographer. She is currently training for Triathlon Age Group Nationals & Duathlon Worlds for 2021.
Angie's journey with endurance sports started nearly 14 years ago when her best friend was dying of cancer. She may have lost her friend but she gained a community of inspiring, motivating and supportive athletes and friends. Each race she remembers how lucky she is to get to push herself further than she ever dreamed possible and each finish line makes her feel like she is continuing to live her life to the fullest, no matter how the actual race went or what time on the clock says.
Triathlon came into Deb's life about 6 years ago. She says it has led to some great self-confidence, as well as a 125 pound and still losing weight loss. She has met some of the most amazing people and has the most amazing support system of friends through triathlon. She is currently training for her first full Ironman set to happen in Madison in September of 2021.
Erin has been a runner since middle school and more recently have gotten into biking and swimming, completing the 2019 half Ironman in Madison, WI. Running cross country and track in college led her to her passion for helping others reach their fitness goals and she has been a personal trainer and group fitness instructor for the past seven years.
Jackie Hering is a 10th year professional triathlete specializing in middle distance racing, mother of two, and event director. She grew up swimming and eventually found her love of running. After college, she dove into Ironman distance racing, completing 24 full Ironmans in just 5 years. In 2015 she became a mom and transitioned to the half distance racing. It’s here she has found her speed again and the most success.
Kally started running in her early 30’s, having never ran more than the mile in gym class as a kid. She trained solo using an online Couch to 5K program and in the process discovered a sense of confidence as well as a sense of belonging in the local running community. Countless races later (including one 50K and one 50-mile ultra), her love of running has led her on a journey to Ironman Wisconsin 2021!
Kathy started running about 14 years ago when a friend asked her to run an impromptu 5k with her and she had no idea what was in store! But here she is several 5ks, 10ks, halfs, and full marathons later - still alive! Running is her happy place but she does enjoy triathlons as well.
Rachael considers herself a middle of the pack racer that enjoys showing up and challenging herself at every race. She decided to challenge herself to do a triathlon, a few years ago, not really knowing how to swim. I enjoy the challenge of the sport in that it brings 3 different areas to train in. I love encouraging other people to race and connecting with our local athletic community that we have in Madison.
At the age of 39, Rebecca decided she wanted to be a runner and for her 40th birthday, she ran her first half marathon in 2012. Since then, she has run 10 more and will be running her 12th half marathon this fall. She loves the camaraderie of the back of the pack and supporting other runners. Outside of running, she can be found coaching hockey at a local rink in the winter and fishing with her husband on their bass boat in the summer.
Robin's love of running began in 2014. She started running because she wanted to run 5ks with her friends, but it quickly turned into a love of longer distances, especially the 10k and half marathon. She loves that running lets her set goals that she can work toward, while also providing her with time to herself to listen to music and clear her mind.
